Metra passenger trains provide a quick commute to the Loop, and run as far west as Aurora. Amtrak also provides daily scheduled service.

Car-free commute to the Loop & beyond

La Grange residents and others bound for downtown Chicago can avoid the highways altogether by riding Metra passenger rail service. Metra's BNSF Railway Line provides scheduled daily service between Chicago and Aurora.

The main La Grange railroad station is located immediately west of La Grange Rd, one block south of Ogden Ave in the central business district. A second station is located one-half mile west of La Grange Rd at Stone Ave.

Bicycle riders take note: Metra trains will take your bike along at no additional charge during non-peak hours. Look for the train cars designated for wheelchair access. There is a two-bike maximum per designated car.

Amtrak also provides scheduled daily service along the BNSF rail line between Chicago and Quincy, Illinois. In La Grange, these trains stop only at the main rail station near La Grange Rd.
