La Grange Plan Commission
Hearing on Proposal for La Grange Place
James Docherty, 17 S Brainard Ave
I have a question: When were these traffic studies made for Ogden Ave and La Grange Rd?
I have waited on Ogden Ave, going either west or east, through two traffic lights—and this is at midday, not at the time of the heavy traffic at seven o'clock in the morning.
Another thing I have to mention is the Burlington Railroad traffic has increased many times in the last year, especially now. My address on Brainard Ave is about two lots from the Burlington tracks.
They have four trains pass at one time and the Brainard Ave traffic was backed all the way up two blocks to Maple Ave. I don't know how far they were backed up on the north. As the tracks cleared, before all the traffic can get through, another train comes through.
Another thing I want to talk about is the 2,500 units they anticipate building. [Actually, it is 289 rental apartments and 37 townhomes.] This would increase the population roughly 5,000 people. The population increase would require so much services from the Village.
I just wondered if these topics had been looked at. Thank you very much.
There was no immediate response from members of the Plan Commission.
